Kristina has been working on the Last Survivor story and concept for around 7 years. It has been her largest project yet, and is always under development. This website is dedicated to her ideas involving this fantasy era and world.
The idea all started the summer going into 8th grade; Kristina was thinking about all of the different roles people play in life. What makes each person and individual so different? What makes one person want to be an officer of the law and another to be a plumber? She began to think of the possibilities. After endless hours of brainstorming, she came up with an idea. An idea on creating her own unique characters. Only this time, it would revolve around the super natural and fantasy, one of her favorite subjects.
Kristina always enjoyed Mythology and Folktale. It was to the point she was actually making up her own races and characters and creatures. Over time she worked with the evolution of character concepts and designs as she started writing and then began to draw the characters and work them into comics; creating identifiable personalities.
The goal was to show development. A concept of what ifs… what would the world be like if there was magic? Not so much magic, but supernaturals? She wanted to create diverse cultures. She wanted to create customs; developing fantasy civilizations. She also wanted to show how each culture and society had their own set of values and morals when it came to the acceptance of the supernaturals.
Corona was Kristina’s first character; a mini replica of herself. As a fire elemental; Corona is somewhat symbolic of that of the suns rays (a corona). Cor for short, one of the ideas Kristina had was to show Corona fr0m a whiny teenager into a young adult; how she obtained her own values and morals on her own. Set in a world where families are broken up, Kristina wanted to think of what it would be like if someone were to be all alone in a world filled with supernaturals looking for a killing. Not only that, but following what societies want you to, and finding out the real truths. The Last Survivor is a story to such a great degree of detail. That is what Kristina enjoys though. She enjoys adding onto this world and fantasy era; it allows her to build up something and look back at what it used to be.
